Rod Mont's solicitor's practice includes Corporate & Commercial Law, Wills & Estate planning and real estate. He has been an active speaker in Nanaimo with topics ranging from the benefits of incorporation for small businesses, Representation Agreements & Enduring Powers of Attorney, and Estate Planning. Rod has also taught several semesters of Commercial Law at Vancouver Island University. Rod Mont was a lawyer in Leduc, Alberta prior to moving to Nanaimo in 1993. He was Charter Secretary for the Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc, Alberta and the Charter President for the Rotary Club of Nanaimo Daybreak. He continues to be active with the Rotary Club of Nanaimo Daybreak https://daybreakrotary.ca/. Rod enjoys playing saxophones and clarinets. He has performed with numerous music ensembles in and around Nanaimo including the NMA Big Band, the Just Us Big Band, the Nanaimo Concert Band, A Capella Plus, the Sunrise Saxophone Quartet, the Vancouver Island Saxophone Quartet, and the Vancouver Island Opera Society. He is currently playing soprano saxophone and tenor saxophone with the Island Time Saxophone Quartet http://islandtimequartet.myfreesites.net. Playing music in musical theatre has also kept him busy. He has played various clarinets, saxophones and percussion instruments in many Schmooze Productions shows including, most recently, “Rocky Horror Show”, “The Little Mermaid” and “Hair”.
