Rod Mont has a busy solicitor's practice which includes corporate / commercial law, wills & estate planning and real estate. He has been an active speaker in Nanaimo with topics ranging from the benefits of incorporation for small businesses, Representation Agreements & Enduring Powers of Attorney, and the new Wills, Estates & Succession Act (WESA).
Rod has also taught several semesters of Commercial Law at Vancouver Island University.
Rod Mont was a lawyer in Leduc, Alberta prior to moving to Nanaimo in 1993. He enjoys playing saxophone, clarinet and piano. Rod has performed with numerous music ensembles in and around Nanaimo including the NMA Big Band, the Just Us Big Band, the Nanaimo Concert Band, A Capella Plus, the Sunrise Saxophone Quartet and the Vancouver Island Saxophone Quartet. Musical theatre has also kept him busy including being part of the band in the recent Schmooze Productions shows “Sweeney Todd”, “Spamalot” and “La Cage Aux Folles”.
Rod Mont was the Charter Secretary for the Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc, Alberta and the Charter President for the Rotary Club of Nanaimo Daybreak. He continues to be active with the Rotary Club of Nanaimo Daybreak and is the president of the Harbour City Theatre Alliance Society.
